"... I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly"
John 10:10


Abundant life, isn't that what we're all looking for? Abundant careers, abundant relationships, abundant experiences, abundant stuff and abundant whatever … we are all searching for more. In this simple passage in John, Jesus is telling us that he has come so that we might have "abundant life".

So, the question of the day is … what is this "abundant life" Jesus speaks of and how might you and I have it? This website and 10:10 Ministries is dedicated to understanding and experiencing everything God had in mind when he sent his son Jesus. Our belief is that the abundant life is for everyone, that it is available to us the moment we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior, that it is meant to be experienced right now, today, and for all of eternity.

Does the abundant life include great jobs, houses, cars and all that we dream of like some Christian leaders today tell us we should have? Maybe! And … maybe not! We don't think those kinds of things define the "abundant life" Jesus promises. And, we don't think the life he promises excludes any of those things either. A very popular and often quoted bible verse is Philippians 4:13 where it says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". We like to bend this verse to mean a lot of it wasn't written to communicate. Back up two verses to 4:11 and read through 4:13 ...

11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Paul knows what it means to have a little or a lot and neither of those circumstances defines the secret of his content. So what does? I wish we could give you all of the answers but we can't. The one sure thing we can tell you is that God is faithful to reveal to each of us what he wants and needs for us to learn most every day.

Our personal thoughts about what an abundant life looks like would include the following and are a part of every aspect of this website and our ministry. So, from our little pea brains here are some principles (please don't laugh out loud Lord!) we feel are foundational to an abundant life ...
  • We were all meant to experience God's "abundant life" which may or may not be in sync with the world's view
  • We were all meant to experience God's "abundant life" which may or may not be in sync with the world's view
  • God made each one of us phenomenal, to do phenomenal things, specifically things he designed us to do for him, as his children, while here on earth
  • That he intended for us to experience the very best in life, work, relationships, play, marriage, parenting, family … you name it!
  • That we have to be diligently about learning what God's abundant life is all about in every aspect of our lives
  • That we are all fallen and broken and need God for any of our time here on this planet to make any sense or be of any real value
  • That God cares about each of us and desires a deep, rich, intimate and lifelong relationship with you and I
  • That you were designed, created and meant for the "abundant life" Jesus spoke of in John 10:10
